Danny Torrance (Ewan McGregor), a man endowed with the psychic power of “The Shining”, struggles to overcome his traumatic past while trying to protect Abra Stone (Kyliegh Curran), a girl with powers similar to those he pursues Rose La Chistera (Rebecca Ferguson), leader of a group dedicated to kidnapping and killing children with powers to achieve immortality.

Sequel to “The Shining”, a Stephen King novel that made Stanley Kubrick successful in the early 1980s. This excessively long Mike Flanagan film is a paranormal horror story with scattered narrative and hallucinatory lines. It has as its center the typical “strange couple” bond in a very topical struggle between good and evil.

A rather boring back and forth of telepathic crossings and struggle for mental control is created, with the threat of a sectarian group of criminals wearing a top hat in a showdown of a series B superhero movie, and in a process of protection and personal improvement full of effects. The tiresome story, with characters that neither fú nor fa, takes us in its final stretch to the scene of the first film, mimicking the aesthetic achievements of suspense in hotel corridors in a catharsis of foreseeable consequences.
